Paul Chabot, former drug czar advisor for the Clinton and Bush administrations, has said plenty of dumb things by way of defending the Drug War and its corrupt and bloody status quo. But he may have topped himself Monday on HuffPost Live, comparing marijuana to child pornography.
When HuffPost Washington Bureau Chief Ryan Grim asked Chabot why we keep cannabis illegal, he responded with what must have sounded a lot more intelligent when he rehearsed it in his head: “Why do we keep heroin, LSD, prostitution, child pornography illegal?”
“Drugs destroy lives,” Chabot dramatically continued (and remember, it’s fuckin’ marijuana this moron is chewin’ up the scenery about). “We have more addicts in this country today than we have had in a long time.
“It’s a shame, when there are so many issues in the community that we could be working on, there’s organizations of people who are not just trying to legalize marijuana but all drugs across the board,” Chabot said, working himself up into a fine little bitch-tizzy.
