Here’s the good news. Colorado-based cannabis companies, The Green Solution, incredibles, and The Hemp Connoisseur (THC) Magazine, have partnered to host 420 on the Block, one of the largest cannabis cultural celebrations in Denver. The inaugural event will take place at multiple CoClub Venues, Thursday, April 20, at 1082 N. Broadway in Denver.“We want to take 4/20 back,” said Nick Callaio, marketing and events director for the Green Solution, reports Kate McKee Simmons at Westword. “High Times didn’t have to jump through all those hoops… we had to jump through all those hoops.”
A multidimensional event, 420 on the Block is described by its promoters as “a fully immersive experience for the senses.” In collaboration with CoClub Venues, the celebration features live music and entertainment, a two-story marketplace, comedy acts, industry speakers, and networking at Vinyl, Church, Bar Standard, Milk Bar, City Hall, and the Living Room.
Spectators will have access to all venues throughout the night with each club offering a different experience and atmosphere. Festivities kick off at 4:20 p.m., in honor of the holiday.“Through this event, we hope to give back to the cannabis community of Denver,” said Bob Eschino, founder of incredibles. “We’ve invited local bands and talent and look forward to working with fellow Colorado companies to say ‘thank you’ to those who have worked hard to help the cannabis industry mature throughout the state.”
The event’s live music performances feature renowned local and international artists from California and Jamaica to the United Kingdom. Musicians include Cut Chemist, Don Carlos, Rusko, Dumpstaphunk, J Phlip, the legendary Del the Funky Homosapien, Invisibl Skratch Picklz, Blockhead, and Phaeleh.Offering a diverse selection of musical entertainment, 420 on the Block will also present a visual showcase of artistic mediums, including glass blowing, live painting, fashion, VJs, dancers, and more.
“We felt it was time to make the largest party in Colorado a homegrown event,” said David Maddalena, CEO of THC Magazine. “The Green Solution, incredibles, and THC Magazine are all industry OG’s. It’s time we took 420 back to our roots.”
“We saw an opportunity in the void that was left,” said Lily Colley, marketing director for incredibles. “There is a bigger message that music and creativity and cannabis are the future, and it’s about breaking that paradigm and showing that these companies are professional, well-established, and there’s a reason they are the market leaders.”
