During the stop, the officer claimed to have seen a bag of cannabis in Taylor’s cup holder.Taylor was charged with possession of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance in a motor vehicle, and prohibited use of an electronic mobile device. That’s cop-speak for talking on your cellphone while driving.
“As a public service announcement — it is illegal to possess recreational marijuana in New Hampshire, even if you only ‘smoke it in Massachusetts’,” the curt press release from the Hampstead Police Department reads.
Use and possession of small amounts of marijuana were legalized in Massachusetts last year.
